    What an upset!

I have had a mixed few weeks, I have to admit!

This weekend will be dedicated to finishing my paper properly (there’s some tightening up to do) s I can read it aloud properly a few times before next Sunday (24th) when I’m presenting it - at 9am! Ugh. Hope I can get several coffees before then! Today, I’m looking on the conference as a way to bookend the year - Victorian Memories in September 07, Revisioning 19th century in August 08. How I’ll feel about it tomorrow is anybody’s guess; I’m all up and down at the moment! I’m also hoping that there’ll be decent internet and hunting around for an internet cable to stick in my suitcase on the assumption there will be….

I anticipate the conference will be odd, if only for the awkwardness of ’so, what do you study?’ ‘well……’ and that my supervisor is the keynote speaker. Hmm.

I’m trying to be positive about it all, as with so much that’s in my life right now. Some days I’m more successful at keeping negative or unhappy thoughts out of my head, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.

    We’ll see.
