The house is set in the middle of the Broomhill conservation area
It was built around 1850, in the boom days of mining and steel in sheffield
It has an attractive edwardian frontage, and is entirely built of golden yellow sandstone, cut in an attractive parallel punch faced cut. It's got a bit sooty over the years. The windows are all single glazed, and mostly sash (with all the problems that brings), and the front downstairs rooms have shutters!
Right now, every room has a fireplace, but I don't know how many can be made to work.
Broomhill is now a busy suburb a mile or so to the west of sheffield center, and is handy for just about everything, and has plenty of cafes, supermarkets etc.
The house is built on two floors with a cellar. Each foor is arranged in a t-shape (see X on map to right), with two rooms in the front, and one in the back.
On the ground floor, the room at the back is the kitchen.
The brochure (pdf) has pictures and a more thorough description.
