Installation Instructions

IF YOU DON'T READ THESE, YOU WON'T MANAGE TO GET IT TO WORK!!!
The installation process is currently rather cumbersome, and is something we are working on!
- Click on the link above to download the self-extracting executable CD_disc_image.exe and put it in whatever directory you please!
- Go into Windows Explorer (or Windows NT explorer) from the 'Start' menu (Start->Programs->Windows Explorer or Start->Programs->Windows NT Explorer). Double-click on the file 'DiscImage.exe' to extract the Installshield files. Installshield will guide you through the process. You can either choose which directory to extract the files to, or use the default suggested (which is c:\Program Files\Babar).
- Now, go into the directory you extracted the files to (eg c:\babar) and double-click on 'setup.exe' (whose icon is a little blue computer). (This may be displayed as 'setup' (ie without the .exe at the end on some machines.) Installshield will guide you through the process of unpacking all the files needed for the package. Click on 'OK' if it gives a message such as "The following file(s) failed to self-register" - this is nothing to worry about. (The default installation directory is c:\Program Files\BaBar)
- Finally, run the program 'reg2.bat' (found in on the Start Menu in the BaBar group, or in c:\Program Files\BaBar) to register the direct-x driver html.ocx. Click on the 'OK' button as it registers each file.
- The program is available both from the Start menu (Start->Programs->BaBar)and in the installation directory (eg c:\Program Files\BaBar) If the display looks odd, change the Windoze setting to 'small fonts', as described above
That should do the trick!
