Xav's Invisible Human Project

Some of you may have heard of the "visible human project" - a bizarre medical thing where thin slices have been taken of executed criminals, photographed, and made available on the internet. Click here for the real thing.

Of course, this is all based in America, and we poor Brits have been feeling a little left behind, since we tend not to kill our prisoners (or at least, not officially) so much. But now, coming to the rescue of the British pride is Xav's Invisible Human Project.

"So," I hear you cry, "what is Xav's Invisible Human Project." Well, put simply, it is a collection of photographs, pictures and images of people who are not there. I don't mean people who are "not all there" (although they are not precluded from this project). I literally mean people who are not there.

Eventually I hope to build up a large database of images of people not being there, as a useful research aid for the scientific community. Never again will you need to search endless shelves of books in the library, looking for pictures of people not being somewhere - simply add this page to your bookmarks, and images of people not being there will be available to you at the click of a button (or press of a key...)

So simply browse the page, and if an image takes your fancy, click on it to see the full sized version.

Get the idea now? As another example, how about a picture of me not quite being completely in shot.

And finally, three images of me not being in my old room in Moss Side, and definitely not playing any instruments. In the first two, I'm not playing my old guitar, which was excessively decorated with weird oddments (including three parrots) which can be seen dangling off the head. The third picture shows me not playing the prototype of an alternative MIDI controller, which appropriately has not yet been finished.

Wait! There's more!!! So far I've had lots of people promising to send me photos of them not being there, but only Andrew Gell, has actually bothered to live up to his promise. So here, for your delight and delectation, is a rare picture of Andy not being in his car!!!!

Although Andy was the only persom who promised to send me a photo who actually has, I have received another submission, from Rich Tietjens. His description of the scene was perfect, and I don't feel I could better it, so over to Rich:-

Here's a picture of me not riding a donkey in New Mexico. That's me, not riding the donkey on the right. The woman you don't see (not riding the donkey on the left) is my wife, Kaye. This shot was taken last July when we weren't visiting Albuquerque on our way to Oregon from Texas.
